Experts sound the alarm on housing: “Just 100,000 homes are being built each year, against 700,000 in 2007”

Spain is currently building around 100,000 homes a year, compared with 700,000 at the 2007 peak. According to Fotocasa data, 1.8 million would be needed to balance the market — roughly 18 years at the current pace, and that is before future demand is taken into account.
